Privacy policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This policy explains what information QuineOS processes, why it is needed, and the choices you have.

Who is responsible

QuineOS is operated by Timur Carpeev. For questions or privacy requests, contact info@quineos.com.

This policy covers quineos.com, our communications with you, and the QuineOS apps and services we operate. If you run QuineOS on your own computer or connect to a server operated by someone else, that installation's operator controls its stored data and configuration. Installing the app does not, by itself, give us access to your installation's content.

Information we process

Content can come directly from you or from files and services you connect. Only provide information about other people when you are entitled to do so. Visiting the public landing page does not connect your email, calendar, or assistant records.

Why we use it

We use information to provide the features you request, maintain conversation and planning context, connect your devices, respond to enquiries, and keep the service reliable and secure.

Where European data protection law applies, the legal basis is performance of a contract or steps you request before entering one for providing a requested service; legitimate interests for site delivery, security, troubleshooting, and responding to general enquiries; and legal obligations where a law requires processing. Where we ask for consent for optional processing, you can withdraw it. Device permissions can also be revoked in system settings.

Providing content and permissions is your choice, but features that depend on them may not work without them. AI responses are assistance for you to review; QuineOS is not offered as a system for making legally significant decisions about you without human involvement.

AI, voice, and connected providers

When you connect QuineOS to ChatGPT or another compatible AI client through MCP, that client sends tool requests through your configured endpoint and receives the selected records needed to answer your request or display the task interface. These results may include task titles, descriptions, dates, statuses, and knowledge content. The client provider processes its copy under its own terms and account settings. Revoking the connection stops future authorized access; it does not erase results already held in a conversation.

AI features send the submitted request and relevant context to the configured AI service. The current integration uses OpenAI Codex; its account settings and applicable terms govern the provider's processing, retention, and use of content. Do not assume that using a local app means all processing stays on your device. See OpenAI's privacy policy.

Optional Mac dictation uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and requires microphone and speech permissions. If enabled, wake-phrase listening also uses the microphone. The app sends the resulting text, and any screenshot you choose to attach, to your connected assistant. On iPhone, system dictation or Shortcuts may transcribe speech before QuineOS receives the text; Apple's settings and policies apply to that processing.

Other recipients depend on the features you enable: your server operator, Cloudflare for hosting and network delivery, Apple for system features and push notifications, and services you explicitly connect. These services process information under their own terms. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Apple's privacy information.

Cookies, storage, and security

The public landing and policy pages have no advertising pixels, analytics scripts, or application cookies. Cloudflare still processes network and security information. The authenticated assistant interface uses a session cookie and local preferences; native apps also keep connection information and cached content on your device.

Access controls, protected credential storage, and HTTPS protect supported connections. These measures do not guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or sensitive records to our support address unless a specific secure process has been agreed.

Where data is processed

Assistant storage depends on the server you connect to. Cloudflare and other providers may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Their applicable data-protection terms explain the transfer mechanisms and safeguards they use. Contact us for information about recipients and safeguards applicable to a service we operate; a separately operated installation may have different arrangements.

Retention and deletion

Different copies have different lifetimes. App content, revision history, conversations, device caches, backups, and provider records are not erased by a single action. Our data retention page explains current behavior and how to request removal.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or a portable copy of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Email info@quineos.com with your request and the service or installation it concerns. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any limits or legally required retention. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority; in the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes affecting an existing service will be communicated where required.
